GeoHot, the genius behind blackra1n and blacksn0w, has announced in his blog that he has jailbroken the iPhone 4. In his blog post, he posted an iPhone 4 photo running cydia as a jailbreak proof.

However, don’t expect GeoHot will rollout a new version of blackra1n or other jailbreak tools in near future for jailbreaking the iPhone 4.

As far as a release goes, it probably won’t happen from me. limera1n is little more than a raindrop on a website; it was never mentioned by me previous to this post. pwned4life is a complete invention of some blogger in a basement somewhere. When I said pwned for life, I was referring to the original iPhone, 3G, and Touch; which of course are, by the aptly named PwnageTool.

Again, please don’t ask for release dates. Every person that does makes me want to release a little bit less.

As of now, there is no jailbreak solution for iPhone 4 yet. If you’re in search of solution for jailbreaking iPhone 4, you may need to wait a little bit longer until the iPhone Dev team releases the Spirit-like solution.

For those who want to jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3G/3GS, you can check out PwnageTool 4.01.

Update:
GeoHot has shutdown his iPhone blog, as well as, his Twitter account. He also announced that he is no longer working on the release for iPhone 4 jailbreak and unlock. Despite lots of negativity after his recent announcement of iPhone 4 jailbreak, I still appreciate his work for the iPhone community. The blackra1n and blacksn0w tools that he developed have helped us a lot to jailbreak and unlock iPhone OS 3.1.2.
