Accessing your Mac, Linux or Windows based computer remotely from your Apple iPad or iPhone is quick and painless with the latest version of TeamViewer HD which is free for personal use.

I was honestly amazed at how quickly TeamViewer is to setup. After downloading and installing the program on both my Windows Vista PC and iPad for testing purposes I was up and running within less than 5 minutes. I was expecting some complicated instructions and procedures to initially get started but the truth is you really don’t have to be a network whiz or programming genius to use this program.

Once you launch TeamViewer on your computer an automated session ID is created as well as password. You can of course use the randomly generated password or create your own unique one, the choice is yours. Before sharing access there is just about every option under the sun for you to customize your settings and security level such as screen resolution, screen quality, permission levels for remote user as well as much more. It’s all very user friendly.

Here’s a few screen captures I took to give you an idea of what the app actually looks like in action. The first one is the main login screen.

This is what it looks like during an actual session once you’re connected to your remote computer from your iPad. It was a little bizzare at first to see my Windows Vista screen on my iPad but after a few seconds and moving the mouse around a bit you wouldn’t even know the difference.

Here’s a peak at the settings menu from the iPad. From here you can do several things such as choose whether or not to display the wallpaper from the host computer, view logfiles, optimize your session for either quality or speed as well as a few other things.

What Can I Use TeamViewer For?

TeamViewer is a great program for transferring files, chatting as well as remote technical support. It’s also quite convenient for individuals who are on the go and want an easy solution for accessing files and information from their unattended home computers from a distance.

My Final Comments On TeamViewer For iPad

Honestly I’d highly recommend this program to anyone. I’m very impressed at the available security features, functionality as well as the overall user friendly experience. When I first heard about this program my initial thought was that it would take at least 30 to 60 minutes before I’d actually have a remote session started, took less than 5 minutes instead as I mentioned earlier.

What I like about this program the most is that it just works, and no matter what your level of experience when it comes to computers you’ll be surprised at it’s ease of use. Great work in my opinion!!
