TweetDeck for Android is the future of TweetDeck, and it's out now

Filed under: Social Software, Beta, AndroidWe told you in this week's Twitter Tuesday that TweetDeck was due to hit Android any day, and lo and behold, it's now in beta! Android users who've been looking to try out one of the most popular third-party Twitter clients can download TweetDeck for Android by following the instructions on TweetDeck's blog post.

iPhone users, get jealous: the Android version of TweetDeck has features that the iPhone app doesn't have yet (although they're coming soon!). The much-demanded "Me" column is here, showing all your incoming replies and comments on Twitter, Facebook and Buzz. That's just one example of new "blended columns": that's right, you can combine Facebook , Twitter and Buzz in the same column. I know the Ghostbusters warned us never to cross the streams, but this is pretty cool.

The UI has also been revamped, and a "Contacts" page for easy access to your favorite friends has been added. We'll have a more in-depth look at TweetDeck for Android once we've had a chance to put it through its paces, but the first glimpse looks quite good indeed.TweetDeck for Android is the future of TweetDeck, and it's out now originally appeared on Download Squad on Thu, 12 Aug 2010 14:30:00 EST.
