If you're an Android user seething over the fact that the iPad and the iPhone are getting Netflix streaming before you do, seethe no more! A Netflix employee has confirmed the company is hiring developers to begin work on the Android app, and the company's job listings on Reddit corroborate his information.As Mashable points out, Netflix's new "Android Video Playback Expert" will be someone who has experience with streaming video on "other mobile platforms," which means that the Android app might be adapted from the existing iPad and iPhone apps.
The ads imply that there's nobody in charge of the project yet, so I wouldn't expect the app to be finished any time soon. Nevertheless, Netflix is clearly demonstrating their commitment to supporting Android, so this app is more than just vaporware.
