write.fm

The man behind write.fm is none other than task.fm creator, Anthony Feint (we covered task.fm back in 2009). The site itself is very simple to use: it's just a blank page which you can write on, and attach files if you want to. Your text is auto-saved, and you can then send the link to anyone you want to share it with.

What makes it worthy of mention is that it's slick, fast, simple and free. It has no real-time editing features a-la Etherpad or Google Wave, and is utterly lacking any sort of syntax highlighting (which is a shame, since it could be great for code snippets otherwise).

Write.fm was made in PHP, and Anthony plans on releasing its source code in limited form to members of his weekly e-mail list on Aug 4th, so if you're curious, you might want to register now. You should know that the list isn't free, though - not only does Feint want your e-mail address, but he wants $3/month. He promises to send out a worthwhile release every week, though, so it may be a good deal since he seems to be a very capable coder and designer (judging by task.fm and write.fm).
