In Armored Ashura 2, you play a flying Japanese dude who is up against an incredible number of enemies and armed with fireballs and all sorts of other weaponry.
This game is fast. It's classic, and there's a boss at the end of each level, and it's hard to kill. You don't always shoot fireballs, though; sometimes it's rockets too. The soundtrack can get on your nerves pretty fast, not to mention anybody else who happens to be around, so you might want to turn the volume down a bit before playing.
It's quite easy to die in this game, so you get several lives. For some reason, they claim it is "very graphics intensive" and give you three levels of graphics quality that you can toggle between using Q. On my very average system, the high quality graphics worked just fine, churning along at 33 frames per second. One other thing worthy of note is that it doesn't automatically pause when it loses focus; you have to hit P.
This is not the most soothing time waster I can think of, but if you have some stress to work off, it can give you a nice few minutes of distraction and blowing stuff up.
